My Friend: August Printables

"My Friend!" by Taye Diggs is a wonderful read aloud that encourages children to think about what it means to be a friend. This story, written and illustrated by lifelong friend, invites discussions about kindness, inclusion, and doing the right thing, even when it's not easy. 

This month, we included a simple printable that educators in K-3 classrooms can use in many different ways. Writing prompts might include:

- what do you like to do with your friends?

- what makes a good friend?

- what did you miss about your friends at school?

- how can you  make a new friend?
